DUI Driver Causes Head-On Crash on Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY, CA (November 23, 2020) – Police arrested Anthony Ryan Blanco after a head-on crash on Jamacha Boulevard on early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just west of Kempton Street around 1:40 AM.
Based on a report, the 31-year-old Spring Valley resident was driving a 2013 Ford Focus eastbound on Jamacha at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, his car veered into the westbound lane and slammed head-on into a 1996 Toyota Camry sedan. As a result, both vehicles sustained major damage.
Consequently, the 27-year-old Chula Vista man who was driving the Toyota and a 26-year-old man in the front passenger seat suffered major injuries in the incident. Medics transported them to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego for treatment. In addition, crews sent Blanco to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Later on, police arrested Blanco on suspicion of felony DUI.
