Cody Muchmore Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 550 [San Ysidro, NM]
Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 550 in San Ysidro
SAN YSIDRO, NM (November 14, 2020) – Authorities identified Cody Muchmore as the victim who died in a head-on crash on Highway 550 Saturday morning.
According to New Mexico State Police, the collision happened at approximately 8:00 AM.
Based on a report, a 2018 Kia was traveling north on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, its driver crossed the center line and collided head on with Muchmore’s 2016 Subaru.
As a result, Muchmore suffered fatal injuries in the crash and died on the scene. Police identified him as a 27-year-old Los Alamos resident. Emergency crews transported his 28-year-old female passenger to the hospital for unknown injuries. Medics also transported the driver of the Kia, a 26-year-old male of Jemez Pueblo, to the hospital.
The driver of the Kia is now facing charges as a result of the crash. At this time, no other information is available.
