One Dies in Bicycle Crash on Highway 126 [Fillmore, CA]
Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 126 near Main Street in Fillmore
FILLMORE, CA (October 27, 2020) – Emergency crews pronounced one person dead after a bicycle crash on Highway 126 on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on the eastbound side of Main Street around 5:45 AM.
Based on a report, the bicyclist was traveling in the traffic lanes at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, a Nissan Sentra was unable to avoid colliding with the victim.
Emergency units found the male cyclist down in the road. As a result, an officer from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately available. In addition, the driver of the Sentra sustained minor injuries.
At this time, officials don’t have additional information to share. However, they continue to investigate the case.
