Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Williams Road [Salinas, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Williams Road in Salinas
SALINAS, CA (August 23, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 46-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident in the 700 block of Williams Road on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Wiren Street at approximately 8:00 PM.
Based on a report, the man was crossing the street in a designated crosswalk at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him.
Medics confirmed that the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release his name pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. After an assessment, police said they do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
