Tori Haywood, Another Killed in Car Crash on Palmdale Boulevard [Palmdale, CA]
Tori Haywood Killed, 5 Injured in Palmdale Car Accident
PALMDALE, CA (July 6, 2020) — Two drivers died following Thursday’s multi-vehicle accident on East Palmdale Boulevard near 80th Street East.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 6:20 p.m.
Investigators believe a 2014 Hyundai traveled into the westbound lane from the eastbound side along Palmdale Boulevard. After that, the vehicle subsequently struck a westbound 2020 Toyota head-on.
Per reports, the crash also caused a westbound 2021 Hyundai traveling behind the Toyota to crash, as well.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the 2014 Hyundai died at the scene. His name has yet to be released pending next-of-kin notification, However, authorities described him as a 20-year-old man from Palmdale.
His 20-year-old female passenger from Lancaster, whom authorities have identified as M.N. Ankenbrandt, suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported her to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
As for the 2020 Toyota driver, Tori Ann Haywood of Smithville, Tenn., she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Haywood’s passenger — 18-year-old Tyjhai Ladet of Smithville, Tenn. — sustained major injuries. As a result, she received treatment at Antelope Valley Hospital.
Three other Toyota passengers — 18-year-old Sierra Ladet, 18-year-old Tyzjon Ladet and 18-year-old Tre Lamar Ladet — all from Smithville, Tenn., suffered moderate injuries and looked to treatment at the same hospital.
As for 21-year-old Tia Perkins of McMinnville, Tenn., the 2021 Hyundai driver, escaped harm.
The cause of this accident has not been determined. However, the California Highway Patrol Antelope Valley area encourages any witnesses to call them at 661-948-8541.
