Francisco Penaloza Killed in Pedestrian Crash at South Bristol Street [Santa Ana, CA]
Francisco Penaloza Fatally Struck in DUI Accident in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (June 30, 2020) – Tuesday’s DUI pedestrian accident at South Bristol Street and West McFadden Avenue resulted in the death of a 41-year-old man.
According to the Orange County coroner’s office, Francisco Toribio Penaloza perished in the 1:10 p.m. accident.
Reports noted that a male BMW driver – reportedly traveling south on South Bristol Street – proceeded through an intersection on a green traffic light and struck Penaloza.
Before the crash, Penaloza had been drifting around from side to side while crossing South Bristol Street, reports revealed; however, investigators have yet to confirm this account.
Following the accident, the BMW driver undertook a sobriety test that proved his intoxicated condition. As a result, police arrested him on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
In addition, whether Penaloza had used a crosswalk and what kind of charges the BMW will face requires more investigation.
In light of this terrible news, our law firm sends its condolences to the family and friends of Francisco Toribio Penaloza.
