Arturo Barrio Jr. Dies Following Pedestrian Accident at South Swan Road [Tucson, AZ]
Arturo Barrio Jr. Fatally Struck by Vehicle at South Swan Road and East Broadway Boulevard
TUCSON, AZ (July 24, 2020) – A 43-year-old man died Tuesday evening following a pedestrian accident at South Swan Road and East Broadway Boulevard.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the man died after being struck by a 2005 Jeep SUV around 10 p.m.
Tucson Police traffic detectives determined that the driver of the Jeep was heading northbound on Swan Road.
The driver crossed the intersection with East Broadway Boulevard on a green traffic light; however, as the Jeep continued north through the intersection, it subsequently struck Arturo Felipe Barrio Jr. as he crossed against the traffic signal.
Following the accident, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police; unfortunately, Barrio succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Thus far, the investigation has led authorities to believe that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident. In addition, the unidentified driver was neither cited nor arrested.
However, if anyone would like to help detectives determine the liabilities of this accident, please call the Tucson Police.
Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with the bereaved family and friends of Arturo Felipe Barrio Jr.
