Arnaldo Ramirez Detained in DUI Two-Car Accident
UKIAH, CA (June 22, 2020) — A 6-year-old boy suffered multiple injuries in Thursday’s DUI accident on Highway 101 near Talmage Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, heading south on Highway 101 around 10:45 p.m., struck the front-end of another southbound vehicle.
The collision caused the pickup truck to overturn in the right-hand shoulder before it landed on its roof.
The accident left a 6-year-old boy with a broken arm and a concussion. As a result, paramedics transported him to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for treatment.
The boy’s driver, Arnaldo Ramirez of Ukiah, suffered major injuries in the accident. Police determined that the 33-year-old man was under the influence and arrested him on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment.
As for the 47-year-old Redwood Valley woman driving the 2016 Jeep Wrangler, whom authorities identified as Jill Garayalde, she sustained no injuries in the crash.
