Woman Killed in Car Accident on Century Boulevard and Olive Street [Los Angeles, CA]
Deadly DUI Accident in Los Angeles Ends in Arrest
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 21, 2020)—Sunday’s two-car accident on Century Boulevard and South Olive Street that might have involved DUI left one woman dead and another arrested.
According to Sgt. Philip Ibarra of the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division, the crash took place around 3:45 a.m.
Authorities believe a woman in her 30s neglected to stop at a red traffic light while heading northbound on Olive Street. At the intersection with West Century Boulevard, that vehicle collided with another car. As a result, it sent one of the vehicles crashing into a light signal. After that, the impact ejected the woman from that vehicle.
Unfortunately, the two-car crash that might have involved DUI, per authorities, turned fatal.
The woman who initially caused the crash complained of pain and received treatment at a hospital. Officers subsequently arrested her on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter for allegedly running a red light.
As far as the victim’s identity goes, the coroner’s office has not yet released this information pending notification of next of kin.
With deepest sympathies, our law group would like to express its thoughts of hope and courage to those deeply affected by this heartbreaking news.
