DUI Driver Crashes into Home at Tieton Drive
YAKIMA, WA (April 14, 2020) – A man suffered injuries in a DUI crash on 44th Avenue on Tuesday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened at Tieton Drive.
An officer followed a Nissan Murano traveling at least 40 mph after hearing squealing tires. When the officer turned on his overhead lights, the Murano pulled into a parking lot before it attempted to turn left and hit a house instead.
A 55-year-old man was sitting in a recliner in the house’s living room was hit him from behind. As a result, the man lost consciousness briefly. He was taken to a local hospital with a possible concussion.
The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, hit and run causing injuries, and eluding police.
