William Camp Dies in Bicycle Crash on North Gene Autry Trail [Palm Springs, CA]
William Camp Killed After Big Rig Strikes Bike in Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS, CA (April 16, 2020) — A big rig driver struck and killed a bicyclist Tuesday on North Gene Autry Trail near East Vista Chino.
The incident took place around 4:05 p.m. near the corner of Gene Autry Trail and Via Escuela. According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. Sgt. Mike Casavan, a big rig driver for unknown reasons fatally struck William Camp, 62, of Palm Springs. The driver has been cooperating with police investigators.
Authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors in the crash; however, an investigation remains as they determine what drove the accident.
