2 Hurt After Two Cars Crash in Aberdeen
ABERDEEN, WA (April 14, 2020)—At least two people sustained injuries following Saturday’s DUI two-car crash on Highway 105 near Pirates Way.
According to the Washington State Patrol, improper passing and DUI most likely caused the two-car collision.
In the investigation, officials determined that a 2003 Chevy Cavalier and a 2008 Toyota Camry were traveling north on the highway.
The Chevy driver, described as a 23-year-old Aberdeen man, tried turning onto Pirates Way when the 19-year-old Aberdeen driver of the Toyota attempted to pass the Chevrolet at the same time.
However, both vehicles collided with an impact that pushed the Toyota off the road and into a ditch where it tumbled down an embankment before coming to rest upside down.
The 19-year-old Aberdeen man operating the Toyota was not hurt; however, reports confirmed that the Chevy driver, as well as his 23-year-old passenger, suffered unknown injuries. Paramedics transported both patients to Community Hospital.
According to the State Patrol, they cited one driver for improper passing and the other faces charges of DUI.
