One Dies in Car and Semi-Truck Crash on 15 Freeway [Yermo, CA]
66-Year-Old Driver Dies after Crashing into Disabled Truck near Calico Road
YERMO, CA (April 10, 2020) – One person had died when a car and a semi-truck got involved in a crash on 15 Freeway southbound on early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just south of Calico Road around 2:50 AM.
Reports showed the victim in a 2006 Pontiac G6 traveling in the first lane of the freeway when the car crashed into the tractor-trailer. The truck was disabled across all southbound lanes of traffic due to a previous collision.
Paramedics confirmed that the driver of the Pontiac sustained severe injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 66-year-old Yermo man.
Officials said intoxication was not a factor in the crash. However, an investigation is ongoing.
