Woman Killed in Parkland Crash Involving Deputy on 112th Street and Pacific Avenue
PARKLAND, WA (April 13, 2020) — A woman died Friday when her vehicle crashed into a deputy’s patrol car on 112th Street and Pacific Avenue.
According to reports, the crash unfolded just before 1:00 p.m.
A deputy responding to reports of shots being fired nearby activated the patrol vehicle’s lights and sirens. As the officer traveled westbound on 112th Street South, it collided with a Honda traveling in the same direction.
Investigators learned that the woman operating the Honda made a left turn, directly in front of the oncoming patrol vehicle; however, the officer had no time to react to the car ahead and slammed into it.
The woman driving the Honda died at the scene and two passengers in the vehicle sustained unknown injuries. As for the deputy, he or she escaped harm.
Because details remain unclear, the Washington State Patrol plans to seek the underlying cause and liabilities of the accident.
In light of this heavy news, our law firm would like to express our condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the victim.
