Man Survives Pedestrian Crash in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 13, 2020) — A driver struck and injured a man in a pedestrian accident on Beyer Boulevard near Del Sol Boulevard Saturday night.
The pedestrian crash unfolded around 8:45 p.m. Saturday. According to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department, the 69-year-old pedestrian was reportedly walking southbound in the No. 1 lane of Beyer Boulevard.
There, in the 3000 block of Beyer Boulevard, a northbound 2001 Mercedes Benz C240 struck the man, causing him several injuries. Reports noted that the unidentified victim sustained open fractures to his left tibia, fibula and other injuries.
The 19-year-old driver of the Mercedes escaped the accident unharmed. However, police officers questioned him and ruled out impairment as a driver in the crash.
