Driver Dies in Crash With Tractor-Trailer on 15 Freeway Near Calico Road [Yermo, CA]
Deadly Accident in Yermo Between Tractor-Trailer and Car
YERMO, CA (April 13, 2020) — A driver lost his life following Friday’s collision with a tractor-trailer on the 15 Freeway near Calico Road.
According to reports, California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the scene around 2:50 a.m. to find a 2006 Pontiac G6 and a tractor-trailer combination.
CHP officials determined that the driver of the Pontiac was traveling in the No. 1 lane when for unknown reasons, he failed to notice the disabled tractor-trailer combination ahead.
The Pontiac subsequently plowed into the trailer of the semi-truck and died at the scene.
CHP officials added that the semi-truck had been straddling the lanes of the southbound freeway due to a previous accident that occurred minutes prior.
Officials ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors in the accident. However, more investigation continues, and anyone with information should call the CHP office at 760-255-5900.
Our hearts go out to the bereaved family and friends of the victim during this tragic, heartbreaking time.
