Brint Taylor Critically Injured in Fatal Police Chase Crash on West 16th Street [San Bernardino, CA]
Brint Taylor Hospitalized in West 16th Street Crash at Medical Center Drive That Kills Passenger
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (April 13, 2020) — A police pursuit Thursday turned fatal, resulting in a crash at West 16th Street and Medical Center Drive.
According to authorities, the fatal wreck stemmed from a police pursuit after officers tried pulling over a Kia Soul that had been reportedly stolen.
San Bernardino Police Department Sgt. Jeff Harvey said the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and the 19-year-old driver neglected to comply with police officers.
The driver, whom authorities later identified as Brint Everette Taylor of San Bernardino, headed eastbound on 16th Street but lost control of the Kia at Medical Center Drive. Reports say the Kia collided with a parked vehicle, a telephone pole and a tree.
Due to the impact of the crash, an 18-year-old San Bernardino man — a passenger — lost his life after being transported to a hospital. However, the Coroner’s office will release his name once his family has been notified.
As for Taylor, he sustained critical injuries in the accident. However, reports have not mentioned anything about an arrest.
Per officials, speed likely played a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
