Fatal Highway 93 Crash Near White Pine County [Elko, NV]
Driver Dies in Collision With Tractor-Trailer in Elko
ELKO, NV (April 13, 2020) — A driver died in a fatal Highway 93 crash with a tractor-trailer near White Pine County on Thursday.
Not only did the 5:55 a.m. crash leave one person dead but also injured a passenger.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a sedan traveling southbound on the highway crossed over the center line for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a northbound tractor-trailer. The impact sent the tractor-trailer on its side while the Chevrolet came to a rest on the southbound shoulder.
As a result, the driver of the Chevrolet perished at the scene; his or her name will be released once the next of kin has been notified. A passenger inside the Chevrolet sustained unknown injuries.
Moments later, another commercial vehicle approached the scene and struck nearby debris from the crash, sending that vehicle onto the shoulder, where it came to a full stop.
It’s unknown what caused the driver to veer into oncoming traffic, but authorities plan to investigate this matter further.
