Patrol Vehicle Collides With DUI Driver in Issaquah
ISSAQUAH, WA (April 10, 2020) — A DUI driver caused a two-vehicle car crash on Highlands Drive Northeast and Southeast Black Nugget Road with a patrol vehicle Thursday morning.
According to authorities, the incident unfolded around 9:00 a.m. During this time, police responded to reports about a female driver traveling recklessly near Mountain Park Boulevard Southwest. Witnesses said she was swerving, speeding and driving into oncoming traffic.
Not long after, police spotted her vehicle near East Sunset Way and Front Street South; however, the woman neglected to comply with officers when they tried to make a traffic stop.
The woman continued traveling eastbound toward Highlands Drive Northeast and Southeast Black Nugget Road, where her vehicle collided with a patrol car.
The 44-year-old woman refused to comply and tried fleeing on foot. However, officers caught up to her and arrested her for investigation of reckless driving, obstructing a police officer, DUI and hit-and-run.
Thankfully, no one involved in the incident suffered serious injuries.
