Shayna Alexander, David Salazar Injured in Car Crash at Amargosa Road [Victorville, CA]
Shayna Alexander, David Salazar Hospitalized in Victorville Car Accident
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 10, 2020)—A two-vehicle crash Tuesday night at Amargosa Road and Roy Rogers Drive left a pair of drivers hospitalized.
According to reports, Deputies, AMR and the Victorville Fire Department responded around 10:56 p.m.
Arriving officials found two cars with significant damage. They described the vehicles as a 2013 Jeep and a white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. Both cars overturned sometime during the accident and came to a stop near a Carl’s Jr.
David Salazar, the 22-year-old driver of the Jeep, reportedly self-extricated himself from his SUV, yet complained of pain in his abdomen area. Paramedics decided to place him into the back of an ambulance so he can be further evaluated at a hospital.
However, 30-year-old Shayna Alexander was still trapped in her Chevy, forcing firefighters to make use of heavy rescue equipment to separate the roof. Firefighters freed Alexander a short time later and transported her to Victor Valley Global Medical before airlifting her to a trauma center.
Meanwhile, investigators scoured the area for evidence that could explain the accident. However, authorities have determined that Alexander traveled southbound on Amargosa Road, ran a red light and crashed into the Jeep.
The impact caused the cars to partially overturn and to knock down a traffic signal pole nearby.
Officers also learned that Alexander had engaged in an argument with family members prior to the accident. At some point during the altercation, she wielded a handgun before driving away.
At the scene, deputies found a BB gun in her car that matched the description of the weapon.
No other information was available, yet more on this crash and this incident remain under investigation.
