David Mattie Killed in Car Accident on Highway 4 Exit [Antioch, CA]
David Mattie Dead in Highway 4 Crash at Contra Loma Boulevard
ANTIOCH, CA (April 2, 2020) — Authorities have identified the fatal victim from last Wednesday’s broadside accident that took place at the Highway 4 exit and Contra Loma Boulevard.
According to police, David Mattie of Pittsburg broadsided another vehicle while exiting Highway 4 East at Contra Loma Boulevard around 9:45 p.m. The March 25 crash also sent an 18-year-old Antioch man to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two other passengers were reportedly riding with Mattie. However, their relationship to him remains uncertain. Paramedics treated both before releasing them from the scene.
According to investigations, 52-year-old Mattie allegedly ran a red light, resulting in the accident. A follow-up investigation continues since information surrounding the ultimate cause has not been confirmed.
