Two-Car Collision Turns Fatal in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (April 2, 2020) — A two car accident on Highway 41 and East South Avenue Monday afternoon claimed one person’s life.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragic event unfolded around 3:30 p.m.
Reports say a Honda Civic traveling westbound on South Avenue began approaching the intersection with Highway 41. However, as the driver crossed the intersection and entered the southbound lane, it traveled into the path of an oncoming Ford truck.
The Ford driver purportedly was unable to stop. As a result, plowed into the passenger side of the Honda.
Shortly thereafter, paramedics transported the Honda driver to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
A preliminary investigation pointed out that both drivers had their seatbelts on during the accident and drugs and alcohol did not play a role. However, investigators have plans to determine the underlying cause.
