Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in Los Angeles Turns Fatal
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 31, 2020) — Two people died following a car accident on Highland Avenue near Melrose Avenue Monday morning.
The devastating collision occurred around 2:00 a.m. in the Hancock Park neighborhood.
According to Los Angeles police, two BMW sedans were purportedly speeding southbound on Highland Avenue when they lost control and collided. The impact appeared to be so significant that it uprooted a palm tree and damaged a fire hydrant at some point.
Soon after, the police responded and found one person inside a burning vehicle. The Los Angeles Fire Department immediately extricated that person and shuttled the victim to a hospital in critical condition.
Unfortunately, two people succumbed to their injuries in the accident. As far as their identities are concerned, the coroner’s office has not released their names and residences.
The details remain uncertain at this time. However, officers encourage witnesses to come forward if they have any information regarding whether the cars had been street racing moments prior. Police did not release any additional information at this time. At this time, police are investigating the fatal car accident.
