Suspect Killed, Officer Injured in Fiery Crash on 405 Freeway [North Hills, CA]
Police Pursuit Ends in Fatal Accident near Roscoe Boulevard
NORTH HILLS, CA (January 14, 2021) – Late Thursday night, a suspect was pronounced dead following a fiery crash on 405 Freeway.
For reasons unknown, a driver was fleeing from the police on the northbound lanes of the freeway. Around 11:40 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the roadway, striking trees and catching fire.
The fiery car eventually ignited nearby trees to catch fire. Although, the fire was quickly extinguished.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced the suspect dead on scene. Their identity has not been released pending family notification.
The events that led up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that a CHP officer sustained non life-threatening injuries amidst the crash.
No further details have been given to the public. Once available, more information will be released.
