Mable Hill Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Bancroft Avenue Near 62nd Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (March 27, 2020)—A hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Bancroft Avenue near 62nd Avenue that claimed a woman’s life on March 10 has authorities seeking the driver’s identity.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland need your help in identifying the driver involved in the March 10 fatal crash that took place around 6:54 a.m. A reward of up to $10,000 will be given to anyone with information leading to the driver’s arrest.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. after Mable Hill exited her parked vehicle in the westbound lanes of Bancroft Avenue. Under unclear circumstances, a westbound vehicle struck her and kept going.
The 65-year-old woman died at the scene.
As for the vehicle involved, police believe that a late 1990s Toyota Camry in white or beige color struck Hill. It also might have sustained front-end damage.
