At Least 5 Injured in Car Accident at Sportsman’s Warehouse [Carson City, NV]

Car Crashes Through Warehouse Store at Shopping Mall in Carson City

CARSON CITY, NV (January 15, 2021) – Late Friday morning, at least five people were injured in a car accident inside a Sportsman’s Warehouse at the Carson Mall.

Officers received reports of a Toyota Prius driving through the walls of a store inside the mall around 11:00 a.m. The Toyota drove through about 100 feet of the store and came to rest against the west door.

Due to the impact of the collision, two customers were taken to Reno Hospital by Care Flight. In addition, three were taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital for further treatment.

Investigators believe the male driver of the Toyota may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash. However, an investigation to determine further details remains ongoing.

The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time before reopening. Officers also say there was minimal damage to the store.
