DUI Driver Injures Phoenix Police Officers On 75th Avenue in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (January 9, 2021) – Early Sunday morning, two Phoenix Police officers suffered injuries following a DUI Crash on 75th Avenue.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Indian School around 5:00 AM.
Based on reports, the officers were investigating a fatal crash in the area at the time of the incident. They were sitting in a Phoenix police cruiser when another driver went through barricades and hit the police vehicle, which had its lights activated.
Both officers were hurt in the crash. Crews later transported them to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The Phoenix Police also extricated the driver from the wreckage before taking them to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities suspect DUI to be the cause of the crash. At this point, no other details are available. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
