Woman Dead, Man Injured Following Pedestrian Accident at Oswell and Auburn Streets [Bakersfield, CA]
Deadly Pedestrian Crash Reported in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 11, 2021)—A woman died following a pedestrian accident at a parking lot located at Oswell and Auburn streets.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the tragic event took place around 11:17 a.m. at the Bank of America parking lot.
Police reported that two people in line waiting to use the ATM machine were hit by a pickup truck driver attempting a parking maneuver.
As a result, the woman sustained major injuries and died at a nearby hospital. In addition, a man sustained minor to moderate injuries in the crash.
Following the incident, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation, which later confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs played a factor in the cause.
