One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway [Los Angeles, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway near Pasadena Avenue in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 1, 2021) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on late Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of Pasadena Avenue around 11:08 PM.
Based on a report, the victim crossed into the path of a 2020 Mercedes CLS450 driven by a 30-year-old Northridge man. Subsequently, the vehicle was not able to stop and struck the victim.
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification. In addition, a 29-year-old Glendale woman in the passenger seat suffered lacerations to her face and hands. Medics transported her to County USC Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, is no other immediate information that is available. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
