Andres Romeroz Killed, Joey Barron Arrested Following DUI Solo-Car Crash on Highway 168 Near East Shields Avenue
FRESNO, CA (January 7, 2021)—A 30-year-old man died in a DUI rollover crash Saturday morning on Highway 168 near East Shields Avenue.
According to authorities, 31-year-old Joey Barron lost control of his vehicle on Highway 168 near the East Shields Avenue off-ramp. Subsequently, the car veered onto the highway’s shoulder and overturned several times.
Tragically, 30-year-old Andres Romero—a passenger in the car—died at the scene.
When California Highway Patrol officers arrived, they immediately assessed the situation, determining that DUI played a role in the accident.
Soon after, officers arrested Barron on suspicion of DUI.
According to reports, Barron faces charges of murder gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and other charges, remaining incarcerated at Fresno jail.
