48-Year-Old Chula Vista Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on 15 Freeway [Escondido, CA]
Rider Ejected and Struck by Multiple Vehicles in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on 15 Freeway in Escondido
ESCONDIDO, CA (December 20, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 48-year-old Chula Vista man died in a motorcycle accident on 15 Freeway on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Via Rancho Parkway at approximately 9:55 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was driving a Harley Davidson Softail at high speed prior to the crash. As he transitioned from the ramp onto the freeway, he sideswiped a Toyota Tundra traveling in the far-right lane.
Subsequently, the impact threw him into traffic lanes, where he was struck by multiple vehicles.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officials did not release his name pending kin notification.
There was no other information available. At this time, the CHP is still investigating the case.
