Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash on Nelson Avenue near Fogg Avenue in Oroville

 
OROVILLE, CA (December 20, 2020) – Police identified Justin Neva as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on Nelson Avenue on Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Fogg Avenue around 9:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was standing next to his parked vehicle at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a second vehicle came and veered onto the shoulder and struck his vehicle and trailer, hitting him on impact. Subsequently, the driver of the second vehicle, 30-year-old Andrew Arrieta of Oroville ran away from the scene.
 
As a result, officers said 57-year-old Justin Neva of Berry Creek died at the scene.
 
Later on, police located and arrested Arrieta. They booked him into the Butte County Jail with $160,000 on bail.
