Daniel Patten, 66, Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Street Racing Accident on East 230th Street [Carson, CA]
Christmas Day Illegal Street Racing Accident Kills One on East 230th Street near Banning Boulevard in Carson
CARSON, CA (December 25, 2020) – Police identified Daniel Patten as the victim who died in a street racing accident on East 230th Street on Christmas Day.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Banning Boulevard around 1:30 PM.
Based on a report, a black Cadillac sedan was illegally racing a blue car prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, both vehicles crashed into each other near a crowd of people, including Patten. A report stated that one of the vehicles lost control and veered into spectators, hitting Patten and another person.
As a result, the 66-year-old Long Beach resident died at the scene. The current conditions of the injured were unknown.
Police had not yet made any arrests in connection with the fatal crash. In addition, they ask anyone with information to call the Carson Sheriff’s Station at 310-830-1123.
