Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in Martinez

 
MARTINEZ, CA (December 14, 2020)—A 28-year-old woman died following Thursday’s pedestrian accident on Pacheco Boulevard near Wygal Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:18 p.m.
 
Under unknown circumstances, a driver in a Chevrolet truck hit the female pedestrian outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
In the investigation, police learned that the driver did not see the 28-year-old Martinez woman until it was too late.
 
At this time, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s coroner’s office has not released the identity of the fatal victim. They hope to notify her family before releasing her name.
