Ryan Marshall Cantrell Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on Highway 36 [Red Bluff, CA]
Two Killed, Two Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 36 near Tuscan Avenue in Red Bluff
RED BLUFF, CA (December 9, 2020) – Police arrested Ryan Marshall Cantrell after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 36 on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of Tuscan Avenue at approximately 08:15 AM.
Based on a report, the 26-year-old suspect was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion south on the highway at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. Due to intoxication, the man let the Ford traveled off the road and into a ditch. Subsequently, it went airborne and hit a tree.
As a result, two occupants in the car, a man, 32, and a woman, 27, both of Los Molinos, died in the collision. Cantrell and his front-seat passenger, Jordan Cordell Suggs, 21, of Los Molinos, sustained major injuries. Medics transported both victims to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Later on, officials arrested Cantrell on suspicion of driving under the influence and released them to the hospital. The CHP is still investigating the collision.
