William Weiss Dies in Possible DUI Crash on Highway 101 Near East Purdy Cutoff Road
SHELTON, WA (December 10, 2020) — A driver died in a possible DUI single-car accident on Highway 101 near East Purdy Cutoff Road.
According to the Washington State Patrol, callers reported the accident around 2:00 a.m.
In the investigation, detectives learned that the 56-year-old driver of the vehicle lost control near East Purdy Cutoff Road. Subsequently, the vehicle veered down an embankment and struck a tree.
Soon after, paramedics and state troopers arrived at the scene and found the driver, William W. Weiss, deceased. His female passenger, who remains unidentified, sustained unknown injuries but will survive her injuries based on reports.
At this time, the ultimate cause of the accident requires further investigation, but State Patrol investigators believe DUI may have precipitated the crash.
