Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at El Cajon Boulevard and Altadena Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian in Wheelchair Injured in San Diego Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 9, 2020) — A 73-year-old man sustained serious injuries following Sunday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident at El Cajon Boulevard and Altadena Avenue.
According to the San Diego Police, the accident happened around 9:55 p.m.
For unexplained reasons, a driver struck the pedestrian as the man tried crossing southbound in his motorized wheelchair. Per reports, the victim was in an unmarked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
According to authorities, the driver stopped momentarily but fled before law enforcement could question him or her.
Soon after, paramedics brought the victim to a hospital for treatment of fractures to his tibia and fibula in one of his legs.
If any witnesses can help authorities determine the whereabouts of the vehicle and driver, please call the San Diego Police Department.
