Woman Critical after Pedestrian Accident on Charleston Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
Pedestrian Struck and Seriously Injured by Vehicle on Charleston Boulevard near Honolulu Street in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 22, 2020) – A woman is now in critical condition after a pedestrian accident on Charleston Boulevard on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Honolulu Street around 3:00 PM.
Based on a report, the 49-year-old woman was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk prior to the crash. Subsequently, she stopped at the raised center median and attempted to cross the westbound lanes. Due to unknown reasons, the woman ran in front of a 2005 Ford Focus that was driving west on Charleston.
As a result, emergency crews said the victim sustained critical injuries. Medics transported her to University Medical Center for treatment. Other crews also treated and transported the 18-year-old driver of the sedan to UMC for minor injuries.
Officers are still investigating the case. In addition, they ask anyone with information to contact the Las Vegas Police Department.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to slow down in areas near crosswalks. In addition, give way to pedestrians who are crossing the street. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
