2 Passengers Killed in DUI Crash on Torrey Pines Road at Girard Avenue [La Jolla, CA]
2 Killed in Single-Car Crash in La Jolla
LA JOLLA, CA (November 23, 2020)—Two passengers perished following Saturday’s DUI crash on Torrey Pines Road at Girard Avenue.
According to police, a Nissan Altima, driven by a 26-year-old man, had attempted either a left or a U-turn at Torrey Pines Road and Girard Avenue; however, around 3:15 a.m., the Nissan driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree.
In the wake of the crash, the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, later facing an arrest after police noticed signs of impairment.
Unfortunately, a 19-year-old man and 21-year-old man, both passengers in the vehicle, died from their major injuries at the scene.
At this time, an investigation regarding this fatal crash continues and anyone with information should contact the police.
