Man Dies in Accident Involving DUI Driver on 69th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
DUI Suspected in Fatal Phoenix Accident near 69th Avenue and McDowell Road
PHOENIX, AZ (November 16, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a man died in accident involving a DUI driver on 69th Avenue on Monday night.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near McDowell Road at approximately 9:30 PM.
Based on a report, a minivan was turning left onto McDowell from 69th Avenue at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it collided with an F-150 that was traveling westbound on McDowell.
As a result, emergency crews transported the driver of the minivan to the hospital, where he died due to severe injuries. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification. In addition, crews took the driver of the F-150 to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police suspected the driver of the truck of being impaired and speeding at the time of the crash. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
