DPS Patrol Vehicle Involved in Crash on Highway 85 near Buckeye in Maricopa County
MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ (November 16, 2020) – A DPS trooper suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 85 on Monday evening.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the northbound lanes of the highway near Buckeye around 6:00 PM.
Based on a report, the trooper was conducting traffic control and moving all vehicles to the right lane at the time of the crash. At that time, the victim parked the patrol vehicle in the median with the vehicle’s emergency lights and its right turn signal on. Due to unknown reasons, a blue Ford F-150 started to pass traffic on the left and hit the patrol vehicle from behind.
As a result, emergency crews transported the trooper and the driver of the Ford to local hospitals with serious injuries.
