Jordan Blankenship Killed, Terry Macewen Arrested in Skagit County Car Accident
SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (November 17, 2020) — A two-vehicle accident on the 5 Freeway near Milepost 221 claimed a 22-year-old’s life last Thursday.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Jordan Blankenship‘s 2018 Ford F-150 pickup became disabled in the No. 2 lane on the south 5 Freeway. At this point, investigators believe that the Blaine man exited his car and stood between the truck and his 2019 trailer.
While standing between his vehicle and the trailer, an oncoming 2000 Ford F-150, driven by 37-year-old Terry Macewen of Marysville, crashed into the back of the trailer. Due to the impact, the trailer struck Blankenship, causing him fatal injuries.
During the investigation, officers booked Macewen into the Skagit County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide. According to state troopers, alcohol and drugs may have contributed to the accident.
