Timothy McCaughey Survives Fatal Car Accident at Northeast 139th Street [Vancouver, WA]
Timothy McCaughey Unharmed in Fatal Broadside Accident in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, WA (November 17, 2020) — A 14-year-old female passenger died in a two-vehicle accident Saturday at Northeast 139th Street and Northeast 72nd Avenue.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the 9:00 p.m. crash drew deputies and paramedics to the scene. After that, they found a full-size pickup truck and a Honda Civic coupe.
Authorities found the 16-year-old male driver and his 14-year-old female passenger with significant life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the 14-year-old girl died shortly after.
Meanwhile, 37-year-old Battle Ground resident Timothy McCaughey, who survived the accident with no injuries, stayed at the scene after the crash. Per reports, police officers determined that McCaughey’s 2007 GMC pick-up broadsided the Honda when the Honda veered into its path.
Authorities learned that the intersection has no stop sign for North and South 72nd avenues, which has a speed limit sign of 50 mph.
