Maurice Hill Jr. Killed, Earl H. Quinby Injured Following Llano Car Collision
LLANO, CA (November 17, 2020) — A 19-year-old Riverside man died during Monday’s fiery two-car accident on Highway 18 near 248th Street East.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Maurice C. Hill Jr. allowed his eastbound 2008 Mazda6 to veer into the westbound lane for unknown reasons. There, the Mazda traveled into the path of a westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, resulting in a devastating accident.
Due to the impact, both cars caught on fire. However, 57-year-old Earl H. Quinby of Pinon Hills became successful in exiting his truck, albeit with major injuries.
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported Quinby to Antelope Valley Hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed Hill’s death in the 5:00 a.m. accident.
It’s unclear at this point what factors caused the accident, but anyone with information should contact Officer T. Shields at 661-948-8541.
