55-Year-Old Oceanside Man Dies in Car Crash on 5 Freeway [Carlsbad, CA]
Solo Car Involved in Fatal Crash on 5 Freeway at Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad
CARLSBAD, CA (November 14, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a man died in a car crash on 5 Freeway on Saturday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Palomar Airport Road around 10:40 AM.
Based on a report, a black Chevrolet pickup truck crashed in the lanes. However, additional details that led to the accident were not immediately available.
As a result, a 55-year-old Oceanside man who was driving the truck died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification. The truck’s passengers, a woman and a juvenile, were not hurt in the incident.
Carlsbad Police Department said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision. However, the investigation was ongoing. At this point, no other details are available.
