DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Crash Involving U-Haul Truck on Highway 41 in Riverdale
RIVERDALE, CA (November 10, 2020) – Authorities arrested Amber Sexton after a fatal crash involving her U-Haul truck on Highway 41 on Tuesday night.
According to California Highway Patrol, the 33-year-old woman was driving southbound on Highway 41 when she crossed over into the northbound lane. Subsequently, she crashed head-on into a blue Honda Civic. Prior to that, a vehicle tried to avoid her truck and swerved out of the way, causing it to crash into a metal fence.
As a result, a 23-year-old male driver of the Civic suffered critical injuries in the crash. Crews airlifted the victim to the hospital, where he later died. Officials did not release his name pending kin notification.
Medics transported Sexton to the hospital for moderate injuries. Finally, the police arrested her for DUI. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
