Ashley Slater, Dale D’Elia Killed in Crash Involving Semi-Trailer Truck on Cajalco Road [Corona, CA]
Fatal Head-On Crash on Cajalco Road near La Sierra Avenue in Corona
CORONA, CA (November 3, 2020) – Authorities identified Ashley Slater and Dale D’Elia as the victims who died in a crash on Cajalco Road on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near La Sierra Avenue at approximately 10:25 AM.
Based on a report, the victims were in a Toyota Scion XB going east on Cajalco at the time of the crash. At the same time, a big rig was driving in the opposite direction. Subsequently, both vehicles collided head-on.
As a result, the victims and only occupants in the sedan died in the incident. The coroner’s office identified them as D’Elia, 32, of Perris and Slater, 32, of Norco.
Officials said the 26-year-old man from Alberta, Canada who was driving the truck failed to negotiate the right curvature in the road and allowed the semi to cross over the eastbound lane of Cajalco. The trucker was not hurt but police questioned him at the scene.
