Woman Struck by Semi-Truck in Banning
BANNING, CA (November 5, 2020)—A woman sustained several injuries Wednesday when a big rig struck her on the 10 Freeway near Sunset Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:10 a.m.
CHP officers could not confirm the extent of the woman’s injuries, but they determined the events that took place.
According to investigators, the woman—a passenger of the vehicle that had pulled over to the side of the road—tried switching spots with the driver. However, an oncoming semi-truck clipped her, causing her broken bones and other injuries.
Soon after, paramedics arrived and took her to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, the truck driver stayed at the scene for questioning.
In their examination, officers determined that neither alcohol nor drugs played a factor in the accident.
