Man Injured in Pedestrian Crash on El Cajon Boulevard Near 68th Street [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Car in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 5, 2020)—A 68-year-old man sustained several injuries Wednesday morning following a pedestrian accident on El Cajon Boulevard near 68th Street.
According to San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster, the crash happened around 6 a.m. in the 6800 block of El Cajon Boulevard.
Just west of 70th Street, a 2016 Mazda3, heading eastbound and driven by a 28-year-old man, struck the 68-year-old pedestrian.
According to investigations, officers say the pedestrian had just stepped off the center median before being struck by the Mazda.
As a result of the crash, the man suffered arm and pelvic fractures and is currently receiving care at a nearby hospital.
Following the crash, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
