Man Killed in Bicycle Accident on Massachusetts Avenue [Lemon Grove, CA]

Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Massachusetts Avenue near Westview Place in Lemon Grove

 
LEMON GROVE, CA (October 30, 2020) – Police confirmed that a man died in a bicycle accident on Massachusetts Avenue on Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Westview Place just south of State Route 94 around 7:50 PM.
 
Based on a report, an unidentified vehicle struck the victim. However, the details that led to the accident were not immediately available.
 
Deputies responded to the scene and found the man with visible injuries to his legs. Subsequently, paramedics rushed the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials did not yet release the cyclist’s name pending kin notification.
 
The motorist stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. Police said there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. However, they ask anyone with any information to call the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department at 619-337-2000.
